Sedation Dentistry FAQs

Am I able to drive after having dental sedation?

The answer to this question really depends on the form of sedation dentistry that you received. If you received oral conscious sedation, you will need to arrange for someone to pick you up from the dental office after your treatment is complete. With IV sedation, it is more situation dependent, although in many cases getting a ride from someone home may be necessary. In most situations if you used laughing gase, you should be able to drive yourself home after sedation dentistry treatment.

Does sedation dentistry put you to sleep?

All of the forms of dental sedation at Hales Parker Dentistry do not put your to sleep, and instead provide a sense of relaxation and calm that makes it so that you can get through your dental visit successfully. We do not use sedation methods that put you completely to sleep because this makes it so that we cannot interact with you during treatment when necessary.
